1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and RentGuard governing your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Description of Service

RentGuard is a monitoring and alerting tool for property managers and landlords. The Service monitors spreadsheets you connect and sends you alerts when potential issues are detected, such as overdue rent or aging maintenance requests.

What RentGuard Does

  • Reads your spreadsheet data to detect issues
  • Stores monitoring data securely for tracking
  • Sends you email alerts when issues are detected
  • Provides a web dashboard to view and manage alerts

What RentGuard Does NOT Do

  • Modify your original spreadsheets
  • Contact your tenants
  • Collect or process payments
  • Provide legal or financial advice

3. Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activities under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not use automated systems to access the Service without permission, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the Service.

5. Google Account Connection

We request only read-only access to Google Sheets and your email address. You may revoke access at any time through your Settings or Google's security settings.

6. Fees and Payment

During the beta period, the Service is free. After beta, the Service will be $29/month. We will notify you before introducing any fees.

7. Service Limitations

RentGuard relies on the data in your spreadsheets. If your data is incomplete or inaccurate, alerts may be missed. The Service is a monitoring tool, not a substitute for professional advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information from the Service.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our systems.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware.
